CASA 101
Attending an information session is the first step to become a CASA volunteer.
At these sessions, you will gain more information about what it is like to be a CASA volunteer and work with the Ross County team.

Pre-Service Training
The Ross County CASA Program utilizes the National CASA/GAL Association’s training curriculum. Training cohorts typically meet one night per week over the course of 5 weeks. Trainees also complete online instruction and activities between sessions, like observing court hearings. Training topics include child abuse and neglect, legal framework, child development, domestic violence, substance abuse, and courtroom preparedness.

In-Service Training
All active CASA volunteers are required to complete a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education each calendar year.
In-Service training may include taking online courses, reading books, attending events or completing activities independently.
The Ross County CASA team will provide you with this further information and support.
